Maisam Award is an annual award granted by the Programmers Association #Program to honor entities, establishments, academies, societies and technical societies, and the developers who contribute to the production and innovation of open source products and their adoption in Saudi Arabia.
It stimulated the contestants and strengthened the spirit of competition among them on innovation and creativity in the field of open source information technology to achieve safety and technical local production in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It was one of the most important objectives of the Maysam Prize competition, encouraging the adoption of open source at the local level, highlighting local success stories in adopting open source, encouraging technical localization, achieving technical sovereignty and spreading open source culture in the Kingdom. Many sectors have participated, including governmental, private, non-profit sectors and a technical group of individuals and entrepreneurs.
